One of the highlights of the Nokia N97 is its QWERTY keyboard. All the reviews i came across before i got my N97 said its all good. I got mine last week (finally !). Wanted to use it for at least a week before putting up a review, hence the delay.
So hows it ?
Its REALLY good. This is my first phone with a qwerty keyboard and it took me 5 mins to get used to the whole system. Typing is super smooth. I like how they have placed the D-pad on the left side. Everyone mentions how tiny the space bar is, but for me thats a huge plus (also, its not that small even). It doesnt take unnecessary space and its positioned in such a way that you will use your right thumb for pressing the space bar. The space between keys is optimum & theres a nice feel everytime you press them.
No negatives ?
None that i can think of right now.
Feel free to put up any questions you may have. Will be putting up many more reviews of each individual parts. Stay tuned.

What about the shortcuts for copy paste? And one irritating thing is also because you can’t really select text with shift+navi, because they are too close together and you have to move both hands on the left side
Hey dude.. Well actually I have a question… I just pre-ordered the N97 myself. I want to know what you think of the touch screen!? I read a lot of reviews about the touch screen being resistive versus capactive which apparently makes its user experience more clumsy or something!? Is that true? Are you happy with the touch screen? And do you use your fingers or the stylus?! Thanks man…
@Tarek It takes sometime getting used to the N97 touchscreen (resistive) if you use a ipodtouch/iphone daily. the technology behind them is different. you need to press on nwhat you want to select on the n97 whereas you need to touch the icon/app in ipodtouch/iphone.
As for which one i prefer, i dont use an iphone. & so had no issues with the touchscreen. there are minor software bugs but nothing to do with N97 hardware.
Hi, I have made up my mind that I am getting a N97 – it has got everything that I want from a phone at this stage. I just want to know if I can read HTML or HTML help files on it. I have got textbooks it HTML format and would really like to be able to read it from my phone.
@nando you sure can read HTML help files. Go for it !
Thanks a lot man
